Officers of Ifako division of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested 35-year-old Alaba Ibrahim and 39-year-old Hammed Ibrahim along Gbagada road, Lagos.

The State police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects were arrested by policemen on routine patrol, following credible information received about the presence of suspicious persons on Deeper Life Bible Church Bridge Gbagada.

“ A third suspect took to his heels upon sighting the policemen.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been operating at that spot during traffic gridlock, distracting motorists and subsequently carting away their phones and other belongings.

“The suspects are currently assisting the police in an ongoing investigation to arrest the third suspect and other members of their gang.  Suspects would be arraigned contingent on the outcome of the investigation,” he said.

MEANWHILE, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has commended the officers for their resilience in fishing out traffic robbers.

He directed that efforts be sustained towards eradicating criminality within Lagos State.
