Lagos signs concession agreement to automate vehicle administration services

Lagos State government has signed a landmark concession agreement for the Business Process Automation (BPA) of the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), a strategic initiative aimed at transforming vehicle administration services and improving access to government services through online one-stop application that allows customers to access their services in the comfort of their homes seamlessly.

The agreement, signed at the Black Diamond Hotel, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, marks a major milestone in the State Government’s commitment to leveraging technology to deliver efficient, transparent and citizen-focused services.

The agreement was signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr.. Oluwaseun Osiyemi; the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Muri-Okunola; the Special Adviser, Office of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), Mrs. Bukola Odoe; and representatives of the concessionaire, Anchor Advisory Partners.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stated that the automation initiative would simplify and accelerate vehicle registration and other MVAA services by eliminating cumbersome processes, reducing turnaround time, and enhancing service delivery for Lagosians.

He noted that the partnership would also strengthen the functionality of the MyLagosApp, enabling residents to conveniently access essential government services, timely traffic updates, and other relevant information across the state.

The Permanent Secretary, MVAA, Mr. Abdul-Rasheed Muri-Okunola, described the agreement as a significant step towards modernising the agency’s operations. He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to deploying innovative digital solutions that will improve customer experience, promote transparency, and make vehicle administration services more accessible to all Lagosians.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser, Office of Public-Private Partnerships, Mrs. Bukola Odoe, charged the concessionaire to ensure full implementation of the agreement while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery for the benefit of residents.

The Business Process Automation initiative is expected to revolutionise the delivery of motor vehicle administration services in Lagos State by digitising critical processes, improving operational efficiency, and reinforcing the state government’s vision of building a smarter, technology-driven Lagos.
