LAUTECH council moves to restore normalcy

The newly constituted Governing Council of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State has affirmed its commitment to returning the once best State University in the country to its glorious past.

At its inaugural meeting, at the weekend, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Professor Dapo Afolabi who presided over interactive sessions with leadership of the various workers’ Unions tasked stakeholders to rededicate themselves to the upliftment of their common heritage, LAUTECH, and shun all divisive tendencies that has brought the institution to the present comatose stage.

As a pointer to its determination to resolve grey areas between the visitors and workers of the Institution over the controversial audit, the Council officially, in line with the edict that established LAUTECH, appointed messrs KPMG to carry out the exercise so that resumption of activities can commence in earnest.

Meanwhile, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba (Dr) Oladunni Oyewumi, has called on the new Council to do all within its power to ensure that differences in religion and states of origin are not allowed to play any role in determining who becomes what in LAUTECH. He spoke during a courtesy call to his palace by members of the Governing Council.

He expressed confidence in the administrative capability of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adeniyi Gbadegesin, whom he described as focused and committed to the welfare of workers and wellbeing of the University.
