Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to the government and people of Niger State following the tragic petrol tanker explosion on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road on Sunday.

The explosion claimed several lives, left many injured, and caused widespread damage.

In a statement released on Monday, Lokpobiri described the incident as a devastating loss for both Niger State and the nation as a whole.

He said: “I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Government and the good people of Niger State over the unfortunate petrol tanker explosion that occurred yesterday along the Bida-Agaie-Lapai road. This tragic incident, which claimed the lives of several people, left many injured, and caused significant damage to properties, is indeed a devastating loss for the entire nation.”

He further extended his prayers for the swift recovery of those injured and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this tragedy. I pray that God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this profound loss.”

Lokpobiri also reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to implementing stricter safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
