Man shot dead in home of APC governorship candidate
An unidentified man has been shot at the home of the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Enugu State Ayogu Eze.
He was shot in Eze’s home at Umuonu-Umuida, Enugu-Ezike area of Enugu State.
Circumstances surrounding the shooting is still unclear.
The victim is part of a group of observers monitoring the election.
After the shooting, the observer group were held hostage at Eze’s compound until a combined team of the police and army came to rescue them to a police station.
“We were almost killed there,” one of them said.
A source in the area said the shot victim has been taking to the hospital
“He’s unlikely to survive because he was shot in the head. His blood is everywhere if you go there,” the source said.
A combined team of the Nigeria police and military have condoned the area since the incident.
