Traders of the affected section of the razed down Araromi-Gate Spare Parts Market in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State have called on Governor Seyi Makinde and other well-meaning Nigerians to come for their aid.

The Chairman of Mayegun Spare Parts, Mr. Demola Amurungun, said the fire had razed over N300 million properties, adding that many affected traders had just stocked their shops on Thursday.

Two of the victims, Michael Adejumo and Olabode Tunde, said the cause of the fire was as a result of an electric surge.

They applauded the state fire service personnel for their prompt response and called the governor of Oyo State and other wealthy individuals to lend support to them.

The fire razed 23 shops in the market. It is the second fire incident recorded within the last three months in Oyo State.
