Minister tasks youths on improvement to check unemployment
Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has challenged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the opportunities initiated by the current administration to boost themselves for the 21st Century and improve their employability and entrepreneurship.
Dare gave the charge in Abuja when he received a delegation from the fifth assembly of the Nigeria Youth Parliament (NYP), led by its Speaker, Azeezat Yishawu.
According to him, the ministry has a bouquet of trainings and programmes like the Digital Skills, Entrepreneurial, Employability and Leadership (DEEL) and National Online Youth Assembly (NOYA), among others, which could be harnessed for national development.
“Youths must apply themselves to the opportunities put forward by government, else you lose your right to accuse or blame government,” he stated.
Earlier, Yishawu said the purpose of their visit was to solicit more youth-oriented initiatives to check unemployment and security challenges bedeviling the most populous black nation.
