Leaders of the National Consultative Front (NCFront) have raised a committee to facilitate fusion with different platforms that share their agenda to form an alternative and ideology-driven political movement to rescue the country from the grip of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Essentially, the 22-member merger committee was charged with a mandate to negotiate and seal formation of an ideology-driven mega political movement as an alternative to APC and PDP.

In a statement signed by Dr. Tanko Yunusa, Head, Public Affairs Bureau of NCFront, the body said it was fully aware of the ongoing national constitutional process in the country anchored by the Olisa Agbakoba-led People’s Constitution Drafting Committee and the overwhelming desire of Nigerians to find a formidable people and service-oriented alternative for what it described as disastrous leadership of APC and PDP in Nigeria.

“We have decided to create a new mega political platform to produce the next political leadership and form the next government in Nigeria. Members of the esteemed merger committee to be inaugurated on Tuesday are: Ghali Umar Na’aba, chairman; Chief Raph Okey Nwosu, vice chairman; Dr. Olu Agunloye, secretary; Engr Yusuf Yabagi Sani; Dr. Osagie Obayuwana; Chief Dan Nwanyanwu; Arch Ezekiel Nya Etok and Chief Peter Ameh.

“Others are Yunusa; Senator Zainab Kure; Jumoke Akindele; Comrade Issa Aremu; Chief Precious Elekima; Senator Folashade Grace Bent; Dr. Aisha Salihu Lemu; Alhaji Hamisu Santuraki; Comrade Mark Adebayo; Mallam Nasser Kura; Comrade Seni Ajayi; Mrs. Georgina Dakpokpo; Kassim Balarabe Musa and Hadjia Kadijat Abdullahi,” the statement read in part.

According to Yunusa, the committee has been given the discretionary power to co-opt any other stakeholders who may be relevant and useful to the successful formation of the new political movement scheduled for nationwide launching by the end June 2021.

“The manifesto, constitution, nomenclature, logo, motto, slogan and interim leadership structures of the new political movement are to be discussed and agreed by the committee,” the statement said.
