Acting Executive Director (Projects) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, has denied the allegation that he manipulated results in Evwreni Ward 8 during the recent Delta State House of Assembly election.

Adjogbe, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ogheneovo Itefue, described the allegation as “baseless, bearing in mind that in this day of politicking, people who sit in otherwise noble and responsible positions remain victims of political blackmail targeted at pulling them down.

“I was not even a candidate in the said election, to plan manipulation of the votes of Evwreni people. I have no reason whatsoever to manipulate election results.

“For all it’s worth, the Evwreni people recognise development and progress when they see one; a choice remains exclusive to them to make.”

He described the claim as emanating from “the frustration normally expected of a sore loser,” warning that “baseless attacks on the reputation of a person is actionable in court.”
