NDDC will pay only contractors that completed projects genuinely, Pondei insists
Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Kemebradikumo Pondei has stated that the agency will ensure payment of contractors that genuinely completed projects assigned to them.
Pondei made this known yesterday in Abuja during the inauguration ceremony of the Presidential Monitoring Committee (PMC) on NDDC by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
According to him, from the interventionist agency record, many contractors were being owed with many projects uncompleted, and promised to ensure payment as soon as the budget is released. He also assured the PMC on NDDC of the commissions support to enable them achieve their goals which would ultimately lead to infrastructural and human development of the region. He assured the committee of the cooperation and support of the ministry in the course of performing its statutory function as members of PMC on NDDC in order to realize the commitment of the President to uplift socio-economic status of the region through diligent monitoring of the commission.
