NEMA, Bayelsa laud Betway for supporting flood victims
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Bayelsa State Government have lauded Nigeria’s online gaming brand, Betway, for donating palliatives worth millions of naira to flood victims in Bayelsa State.
South South Coordinator of NEMA, Godwin Tepkikor, said Betway’s donation would cushion effects of flooding in communities.
He urged more companies to take corporate social responsibility seriously by providing support to communities outside where they operate.
Receiving the materials, Chairman, Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), Igrubia Walaman, also lauded Betway for their generosity and demonstration of social responsibility.
He called on other corporate organisations to emulate Betway in providing succour to flood victims.
The presentation of food items was done at the Bayelsa office of NEMA.
Chief Operating Officer, Betway Nigeria, Otunba Kunle Olamuyiwa, who made the presentation to NEMA and BYSEMA officials, commiserated with flood victims, many of whom were left homeless.
Olamuyiwa stated that the donation was part of the company’s social responsibility to its customers, aimed at leaving positive imprints in countries Betway operates in.
On what the company represents, he said: “Betway Group is a leading provider of innovative and exciting entertainment across sports betting, casino and e-sports betting. Launched in 2006, the company operates across a number of regulated online markets.”
