NEMA pledges succour for Anambra flood victims
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has promised flood victims in Anambra of immediate assistance from the Federal Government.
Its Acting Director General, Air Commodore Aikhogbu Iyamu, gave the assurance yesterday during an on-the-spot access visit of the sites in Ogbaru Local Council Area of the state.
The agency urged people in affected communities of Odekpe, Atani and environs to evacuate their homes for the upland.
Reminding the people that emergency management was taxing, the NEMA chief stated that nobody could control nature, insisting that globally, flood management had posed problems even in the United States.
He promised to brief the DG, Mustapha Maihaja, on his findings to facilitate aid.
