The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has warned motorists against reckless driving during Eid-el-Fitri celebration to reduce road accidents.

NEMA’s Head of Operations in Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states, Mr. Olarewaju Kadiri, gave the warning yesterday in Ado-Ekiti at the launch of “Operation Eagle Eye’’ to sensitise road users on the need to embrace safety measures during the Eid-el-Fitri cerebration.

The NEMA boss, who was represented at the event by Head of Research Unit, Mr. Simisaye Azeez, also warned residents of the state to stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse on waterways to avoid flooding disasters during the rainy season.

Kadiri, who was represented at the event by Head of Research Unit, Mr. Simisaye Azeez, noted that series of programmes would be rolled out to sensitise the people on how to avoid flooding and also collaborate with National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the NEMA corps members under the auspices of the emergency management vanguard to sensitise the people on the need to clean their drainages and also not to build on waterways.
