A retired Naval Commodore, Omatseye Nesiama, has emerged as the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for Delta South Senatorial district.

Commodore Nesiama (rtd) defeated his closest rival with 218 votes to 20 at Oleh town in Isoko South local council area of the state, where the primaries was held.

Following the victory, Arifa Descendants Union of Kunukunuma in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Delta State, through their spokesman, Jeremiah Oritsejolone, has congratulated Nesiama, stating that his victory was well deserved.

Meanwhile, the retired Commodore has expressed gratitude to the leadership of the NNPP for conducting a credible senatorial primary. He also thanked party delegates that cast their votes overwhelmingly for him.

He dedicated his victory to the people of Delta South Senatorial District and members of the party.

“I thank all the delegates, the Hope Restoration Movement and our teeming and ever growing supporters base for the encouragement thus far,” Nesiama said.

According to him, with his victory, the delegates have proved that it was possible to jettison the old style of politicking that brought hopelessness to the people.

“By this endorsement, our hope is renewed. We shall now mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint,” he added.

Nesiama said he would usher a new dawn of endless possibilities and hope in Delta South.

“Let everyone now brace up for the bigger task ahead of us which is to deliver the Senatorial District to the NNPP”, he said.
