New head for Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation

Prince Sulayman Olagunju has emerged the new Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, a prominent Islamic non-governmental organization.
Olagunju, who took over from Imam Abdullahi Shuaib resumed duty on April 1, 2016 was formerly the Chairman, Board of Directors of the Foundation.
Olagunju in a chart with the media recently declared his determination to lift the foundation to enviable heights by introducing innovative and more convenient ways of paying Zakat and Sadat.
According to him, Z$S is vigorously pursuing its mission of reducing poverty in the society, through the payment and coordination of Zakat as stipulated by almighty Allah.
He said the foundation is presently working with several state governments to further encourage their staff to pay Zakat.
The foundation, according to him, is however planning to share above N10 million to business plan beneficiaries in this year’s edition, while it is designing a transaction alert system to alert the Zakat payers and appreciate them immediately after payment.
He said plans are also underway to support the internally displaced persons in some parts of the country and also feed some Muslims during the forth-coming Ramadan fasting season.
