New Lions President Kareem seeks government backing to expand club’s impact

Royal Lions Club

The newly inaugurated president of the Ilorin Royal Lions Club, Hamid Kunle Kareem, has appealed for stronger collaboration among club members, government agencies, private organisations and other stakeholders to enhance the club’s capacity to respond to community needs.

He made the call last weekend in Ilorin at an event that also featured the induction of new members and a fundraising initiative to support the club’s humanitarian projects.

Members said Kareem’s inauguration marked the beginning of an administration expected to strengthen humanitarian service and expand the club’s community-based programmes.

Speaking, Kareem expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and acknowledged the contributions of past leaders to the growth of the club.

He reaffirmed commitment to working with members and other stakeholders to advance the club’s humanitarian objectives, emphasising the importance of collective effort and sustained support.

As Kareem begins his tenure, expectations are that his leadership will help strengthen partnerships, encourage greater participation and translate the ideals of Lionism into meaningful community impact.

For Kareem, leadership extends beyond professional accomplishments; “it is an opportunity to inspire others, recognise potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

“Through entrepreneurship, professional practice and Lionism, our journey reflects the value of connecting ambition with a commitment to service and the betterment of humanity,” he noted.

Meanwhile, new members were inducted into the association to join its network of volunteers committed to serving communities and supporting people in need.

Old members said the fundraising initiative underscored the importance of financial contributions and partnerships in sustaining humanitarian programmes.

The event also provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of outgoing leaders and members whose efforts supported the club’s activities during the previous administration.

The ceremony brought together club members, dignitaries, friends of the club and other stakeholders to celebrate a new phase of leadership and reaffirm their commitment to community development.

However, beyond Lionism, Hamid Kunle Kareem is an entrepreneur and development professional whose interests span business, project management, monitoring and evaluation, and the recognition of excellence.

He is the founder of the Elite Vibez Award, an initiative dedicated to recognising excellence and celebrating outstanding contributions across different fields.

Through the platform, Kareem promotes the importance of acknowledging achievement and inspiring others to pursue excellence.

His entrepreneurial interests also include Menu Menu Ventures, a business venture in the frozen foods sector.

In addition to his business pursuits, he works as a project manager and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialist, with interests in project delivery, performance assessment and development.
