Country Director, Helen Keller International, Philomena Orji has called on state governments to engage school children in sporting activities, as it would aid their academic performance.

Orji, speaking at the Healthy Champions Sports Festival, organised by Helen Keller International, in collaboration with Ikeja Local Government Education Authority and Mondelez International, said participating in physical exercise would help them to live healthy.

He said: “We advise them to live healthy lives through sport activities. Children need to eat healthy, have diverse diets and be physically active, so that they can be healthy throughout their lives.”

Sport Director, Ikeja Local Government Education Authority, Mr. Animashaun Razak, urged other organisations to support grassroots sports development.
