Nigeria at 64: NIHSA highlights importance of water security
As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Day, the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) emphasises the critical role of water resources in national development.
The Agency Director General Umar Ibrahim Mohammed in a statement on Tuesday highlighted the agency’s commitment to sustainable water management amidst the growing challenges of climate change.
According to him, the NHSA is ramping up efforts to enhance water monitoring and improve drainage systems, aiming to bolster community resilience against flooding and drought.

With increasing rainfall patterns posing risks to many regions, proactive measures are essential to safeguard communities.
