Bayelsa: Police nab two with truck load of stolen COVID-19 palliatives

Bayelsa Police arrested two men, Shehu Yola and Sunday Emmanuel for stealing mattresses suspected to be COVID-19 palliatives in Yenagoa.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat, the suspects were arrested on Thursday and an investigation is ongoing to unravel the source of the mattresses.

Chairman of Civil Liberty Organization, Bayelsa State Chapter, Nengi James, who raised the alarm that led to the arrest of the suspects commended the Police for quickly swinging into action while appealing that the matter be properly investigated as they are interested in the outcome of the matter. “This is condemnable and we’re very interested in the case which is why we made the information public. I am calling on the IGP to make sure that this matter is not swept under the carpet.”
