Court remands ex-director over $9.6b judgment debt

Justice O.A. Adeniyi of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja has granted bail to Mrs. Grace Taiga, a suspect in the alleged multiple frauds involving Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID), but returned her to Suleja Prison in Niger State pending the fulfillment of her bail conditions.

During yesterday’s sitting, defence counsel, Ola Olanipekun, filed the bail application.

The 69-year-old lawyer and former Director, Legal Services in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, was a key factor in the fraudulent Gas Supply and Processing Agreement (GSPA) between the Federal Government and the Irish firm where she was alleged to have used her position to administer undue favours to the company.
