EDC inaugurates new alumni association executive committee

The Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University has recently inaugurated New Alumni Association Executive Committee.

Following the call for nominations of a new leadership to take over the mantle from the outgone past executive members, several notable entrepreneurs emerged for the various positions including a retired Naval Officer, Commodore Omatseye Nesiama (aka Oscar Oscar) of CEM 38, who was nominated and elected as the President of the Alumni Association with a manifesto to rekindle the hope and confidence of the entrepreneurial body.

He is supported by Rose Keffas (VP Abuja), Dr. Omopeju Afanu (VP Lagos), Uwa Prosper (Secretary), Chidinma Amu-Nnadi (Asst. Secretary Abuja) and Joyce Ugbosu (PRO).

The newly inducted executives were charged by the outgoing and immediate past presidents of the association (Afolabi Abiodun of SB Telecoms Ltd and Eni Ibukun Adebayo of CleanAce Drycleaners respectively) to work with their manifesto in order to make the EDC alumni body more vibrant, impactful and robustly interactive for all its members

They were also advised to foster partnerships with the business community and ministries, departments and agencies (MDA)s in Nigeria whilst working within the guidelines and in the interest of the entire EDC community, which comprises the institution and the alumni body.

The new executives assured of setting up an advisory team comprising prominent entrepreneurs, business titans and technocrats cutting across various spheres of the economy.

Over 20 years ago under the leadership of Mr. Peter Bankole, the institution was established with the mission of providing holistic business development and support services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria, through capacity building programmes and a variety of wrap-around services such as advisory services, mentoring, experts-in-residence, network meetings, access to market and information, implementation of organisational plans.

Presently, the centre has trained over 6000 entrepreneurs in different works of life and at various stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

The event coincided with the graduation of about 100 participants of some of the various EDC programmes; Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management (CEM Lagos and Abuja) and Health Management Programme (HMP)
