Muhammed gave the charge at the inauguration/induction ceremony of the 2019 Hajj National media team held at the National Library Mosque in Abuja.According to him, reporting factual and accurate information devoid of personal interest should be the core objective of journalists covering pilgrimage activities. He urged the media team to concentrates on reports that would add value to the pilgrims and avoid any situation that may cause fracas between the Nigerian government and the Saudi Arabia authority.

Earlier, the Managing director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Mansur Liman in his presentation on “Ethics of Journalists in Hajj coverage” advised the media team to understand context of a situation before reporting it, reminding them to be extremely conscious of what they report by crosschecking facts.
