The Anambra State Association Europe (ASA Europe) has conferred its Honourary Patron on Chairman of Mekens Integrated Nigeria Ltd, High Chief Anthony Ikenna Obele (Okwunze Aguata, 7-Star General).

The award is coming barely hours after being celebrated as Anambra Business Icon of the Year at the Fifth Edition of the Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Awards.

The honour, presented during the association’s gathering in Austria, is a testament to Chief Obele’s enduring contributions to entrepreneurship, philanthropy, human capital development and community service. The award was received on his behalf by Chairman of City Square Mall, Awka, and Koboko Entertainments, Chief Evans Izuchukwu Emesim (Okwumereze of Ukpor Ancient Kingdom), who represented the renowned industrialist at the ceremony.

The event also celebrated other accomplished Anambra sons and daughters whose achievements continue to promote excellence within the diaspora. Chief Dr. Amb. Henry Iyke Mmerigwo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Merimerid International Limited, received the Visionary Legacy Award while serving as the Chief Guest of Honour, in recognition of his remarkable humanitarian interventions through the Ifenalaife Foundation, particularly in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and poverty alleviation.

Also honoured was Chairman of City Square Mall, Awka, and Koboko Entertainment, Chief Evans Izuchukwu Emesim (Okwumereze of Ukpor Ancient Kingdom), who was conferred as Brand Ambassador of ASA Europe for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of Igbo culture, community development and human capacity building.
