Three individuals, including a teenager and a state official, have reportedly been kidnapped in Gbugbu community, Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The victims were said to have been abducted between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Monday.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident during a press briefing in Ilorin.

She lamented that despite the presence of security personnel in the area, abductions in Edu LGA continue.

Similar incidents have also been reported in other communities, including Ndeji, where residents have fled their homes for safety.

Security forces, including the police, military, civil defence, local hunters and vigilantes, have intensified operations to track down the perpetrators in Edu, Ifelodun and Patigi local governments, where bandit hideouts have been identified.
