Dukiya co-founders complete executive programme at Lagos Business School

The co-founders of a fast-rising real estate firm in Lagos State, Dukiya Investments, Lukman Shobowale and Bayo Lawal, on Friday, completed their Owner Managers Programme at the most-revered Lagos Business School.

The duo of Shobowale and Lawal who acquired Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Ajayi Crowder University, Oyo State last year graduated among the class toppers.

Lawal earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Kwara State University, Malete in 2017, and was an active student leader during his time in school.

Lawal is a seasoned realtor and author of ‘Beyond Degree’ and has been hosting a leadership programme tagged ‘INSIGHT’ conference; a platform that gives students many options for considering many opportunities that abound after school. He has taught entrepreneurs, global giants, and political leaders, to share their wealth of experience, insight, and success principles, with the over 600 student audience who were in attendance.

His passion to see people grow and add value to them influenced him to start a supervision academy called Insight Development and Leadership Academy (IDLA). IDLA is a platform that brings people together to learn about value, leadership, character and people skills. 

So many awards have been credited to his name but the most cherished is that of the KWASU award of excellence presented by the Alumni Association.

Meanwhile, Shobowale earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Relations from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin in 2017, and was a passionate Students Union President loved by students for his promptness to matters and massive projects on campus.

In 2018, Shobowale was reportedly slapped in an altercation with a lecturer while advocating for students who were disallowed from taking their CBT exams. His response to the situation earned him the award of Kwara State Ambassador of Peace that year.

Speaking at the venue of the graduation, Shobowale said he is pleased with what he has achieved so far because being an orphan and achieving this monumental opportunities is just the grace of God.

“I was a street meat hawker that was bred by God’s amazing grace. I know he is not done with me. He will still do more for me.

“I am pleased to have amass all these certificates and I promise to use it to develop humanity,” he said.

In his own reaction, Lawal opined the stress involved in becoming one of the toppers of the class and shared the opportunities abound being a Lagos Business School graduate.

“I met so many company executives who are now friends and business associates with me. This is one of the many opportunities one get from this school.

“I will use all of my certificates acquired to develop my mentee in my leadership programme. It is a rare benefit I enjoyed and I want them to share from it,” the real estate magnate sustained.
