Four NECO candidates, principal abducted from exam hall in Kogi

Four students and their principal including NECO ad-hoc staff have been abducted during the ongoing NECO examination at Government Secondary School Odo-Ekina in Dekina local government of Kogi state.

The incident occured on Tuesday evening at about 6pm while the exams was about to round up.

The abduction incidence has been confirmed by the Kogi state Police command

The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Salisu Oyiza, said, “During the incident, four students, the school principal and one NECO ad hoc staff member were abducted by the attackers.

“A combined team of the police and other security agencies immediately launched a search-and-rescue operation and is currently on the trail of the assailants. So far, one of the abducted students has been rescued, while efforts are ongoing to secure the safe rescue of the remaining victims and apprehend the perpetrators.”

She said the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, Naziru Kankarofi, the Brigade Commander and the State Security Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State were on their way to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment.

“A more detailed press release will be issued as soon as additional verified information becomes available,” she added.

“Efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available,” Afusat assured the public” She said..
