ICPC strengthens armed squad with advanced training in Nasarawa

The exercise, which included shooting, marksmanship, and tactical drills, was evaluated at the 177 Battalion Guard Brigade of the Nigerian Army base in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

ICPC Chairman, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, noted that the squad’s performance demonstrated readiness to combat corruption and safeguard ICPC personnel during official assignments.

Aliyu commended the squad’s discipline, precision, and professionalism and lauded its commitment to excellence in arms handling and operational preparedness.

“The armed squad has shown remarkable improvement and dedication to duty,” Aliyu stated. “This reflects their readiness to confront security challenges in their mission to combat corruption.”

Highlighting the partnership between the ICPC and the Nigerian Army, Aliyu expressed gratitude for the military’s support in training the Commission’s armed personnel. He described the collaboration as critical to strengthening anti-corruption efforts and building a secure, corruption-free society.

He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to providing adequate resources and continuous training for the armed squad, urging them to remain steadfast in their duties with integrity.

Representing the Commanding Officer of the 177 Guards Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Abi Enuwa, Major M.A. Sani praised the ICPC for its proactive measures in combating corruption. Sani commended the training programme for its role in improving operational capacity and instilling discipline, aligning with national security objectives.

He urged participants to apply the skills and strategies acquired during the programme to further the ICPC’s mission.

The event concluded with a live demonstration of tactical drills and shooting accuracy by the armed squad, witnessed by the ICPC Chairman and senior officials. The training encompassed marksmanship, tactical drills, firearm maintenance, and operational readiness to enhance the squad’s capabilities.
