An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday sentenced a 44-year-old unemployed man, Kunle Ojetunde, to spend three months at the correctional center for stealing two live Turkeys.
The magistrate ordered that the sentence would run consecutively.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Femi Omilana, while reviewing the facts said that on Sept. 4, at Abaomo, Apata, Ibadan, the convict broke into a chicken pen in his neighborhood and stole two live Turkeys.
According to the prosecutor, the owner Mr. Sunday Paul, reported the case at Apata Police Station.
He said that the convict sold the Turkeys to a seller who displayed them at the market for sale.
“Paul’s wife went to Apata market and identified the Turkeys in a cage displayed for sale.
“The convict was arrested through the person that bought the Turkeys from him,” Omilana said.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390 (9) and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
