One person was injured yesterday in an accident involving two vehicles on Eko Bridge, Lagos, leading to traffic disruption along the axis.
The crash, which occurred at about 6:00 a.m. on the inward NEPA lane, involved a truck and a white car. One of the vehicles was severely damaged, while the impact caused heavy traffic backups.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the car flipped over during the collision, leaving one driver seriously injured. The victim was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“An accident involving two vehicles occurred on Eko Bridge inward NEPA, prompting the deployment of tow trucks,” the agency said.
LASTMA personnel, alongside policemen from the Ebute Ero Divisional Police Station, were deployed to the scene to manage traffic and ensure the injured driver was swiftly conveyed to the hospital.
Following the incident, traffic was restricted to one lane, resulting in slow movement and a backlog extending to Offin Canal.
As of the time of filing this report, the affected vehicles had been evacuated and normalcy restored along the axis.
