Otti commissions 14 rehabilitated roads in first phase of urban renewal drive

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has commissioned 14 newly rehabilitated roads in Aba and its environs, signifying a significant step in the state’s infrastructure renewal agenda.

They include Umuode Road, Bakassi Road, Asa Road, and the stretch from Enyimba Junction to Ariaria Gate, which form part of the first phase of 55 projects slated for commissioning and groundbreaking.

Speaking at St. Joseph’s College (CKC), Asa Triangle, Aba, Governor Otti highlighted the strategic importance of the rehabilitated roads in enhancing business operations, improving urban mobility, and elevating the quality of life for residents.

“This is more than infrastructure; it’s a renewal of public confidence and economic vitality,” Otti said, urging residents to protect the roads from misuse.

The governor expressed gratitude to the people of Aba for their support and commended the Ministry of Works and the Greater Aba Development Authority for their professionalism in executing the projects.

Otti was accompanied by his Deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, Speaker Emmanuel Emeruwa, and other senior government officials.
