Top international golfers have indicated interest in participating in the Oris Pro-Am Championship billed to hold at the Aba Sports Club 1926 from November 25 to 28, 2026, the organisers have said.

The event, sponsored Oris Signature Hotel, has already attracted over 150 professional golfers, including 15 players from other African countries. They will compete for a N35 million prize purse, while amateur participants will vie for more than 60 prizes across various categories.

Chairman of Oris Signature Hotel, Owelle Greg Okafor, described the championship as an opportunity to promote talent development and support the tourism initiative of the government of Abia State.

“As a sports enthusiast and community builder, this is our contribution to developing local talent, showcasing our city and complementing government efforts to reposition Aba. This year’s edition coincides with Aba Sports Club’s 100 years anniversary and it is great to be part of it,” Okafor said.

The championship is also expected to spotlight Aba’s growing tourism potential, supported by the ongoing economic and infrastructural transformation initiatives of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
