Police nab robbery gang, notorious cult leader in Lagos
Lagos State Police Command has arrested a three-man robbery gang specialising in robbing female passengers at night with their Toyota Camry car.
The suspects, Kingsley Izoronwu (37), Desmond Emeka (28), and Sheriff Olusunmoadi (25), were nabbed on September 22 with a locally-made pistol, six live cartridges, and 12 iPhones.
Izoronwu, a second-time offender, confessed to robbing six ladies by mistake, claiming he was confused and had bills to pay.
Izoronwu, who has two children to support, expressed regret for his crimes and appealed for forgiveness from the Nigerian Police Force.
His partner, Emeka, also admitted to robbing ladies after inviting them as hookup girls. He expressed remorse and said he would feel terrible if someone robbed his family.
The Police also arrested 30-year-old Abiola Dosunmu, a wanted and notorious cult leader, on September 20.
Dosunmu was involved in several cult-related killings within Epe environs.
A locally-made pistol was recovered from him, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other gang members.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to the Police.
