Police nab suspected cultist, murderer in Ogun
Police in Ogun State have arrested a 34-year-old suspect, Adekunle Adebajo, aka Kunle Polly, from Itun Oke Ijebu Isiwo, for alleged murder.
The suspect was a member of a rival cult group that allegedly killed one ‘Mosquitoe.’
The spokesperson for the command, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement, said: “Following previous reports, one of the cultists, who participated in the murder of Mosquitoe was arrested at about 12:03 a.m. in a hideout in Isiwo, Ijebu and currently undergoing preliminary investigation in Igbeba Division.
“Credible information was provided by the public, which indicated the hideout of the fleeing suspects. Upon receiving this information, a team of detectives promptly mobilised and moved to the location, where one suspect- Adekunle Adebajo was apprehended.
“During interrogations, Kunle Polly admitted to being a member of the Eiye confraternity. This prompted a search to be conducted at his residence, leading to the recovery of a Beretta pistol with six live rounds, two UTC axes, and charms.
Investigation is ongoing to unravel the pattern of severing the left hand of their victims and to arrest other criminals that fled the hideout.”
