Radda vows thorough probe into killing of Islamic cleric

Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has vowed a thorough investigation into the killing of renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka, and his associate, Adamu Abubakar, by suspected gunmen in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.

The victims were shot dead by two unidentified gunmen riding on a motorcycle in front of the cleric’s residence at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026.

In a statement by his press secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, Radda expressed shock over the killings and assured residents that security agencies would intensify efforts to identify and arrest those responsible.

“Those behind this heinous act must be brought to justice. I urge the relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators face the full weight of the law,” he said.
