Security guard jailed nine months for stealing money
A Jos Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, sentenced a security guard, Collins Ibrahim, 21, to nine months in the correctional centre for alleged N41,300 theft.
The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Delivering his judgment, Bokkos sentenced the convict to three months in jail, but granted him an option of N10,000 fine.
Equally, the magistrate ordered the convict to make a restitution of the N45,000 stolen to the complainant, and if otherwise to spend additional six months in a correctional facility.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Ijuptil Thiawur, told the court that the case was reported on Aug.16, at the “A” Division Police station by one Enoch Mangchin, the complainant.
Thiawur said that the convict fraudulently collected the complainant’s phone and manipulated the bank application on it to transfer money from the account.
The Prosecutor told the court that the offense contravened the provision of the Plateau State Penal Code Law.
