Zamfara govt rehabilitates abandoned vehicles for security agencies

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State

The Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, under the leadership of the Commissioner, Hon. Lawal Barau Bungudu, has commenced a strategic programme to rehabilitate unserviceable vehicles belonging to security agencies operating in the state.

The initiative forms part of the state government’s sustained efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance public service delivery.

Under the programme, several grounded and non-functional vehicles were repaired, serviced, and restored to optimal working condition by the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure’s Mechanical and Electrical Departments.

The successful rehabilitation exercise reflects the state government’s commitment to effective asset management, technical efficiency, and institutional support for security agencies.

Following the completion of the rehabilitation works, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State formally handed over some of the refurbished vehicles to beneficiary security agencies, including the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The handover underscored the administration’s resolve to equip security agencies with the necessary logistics to improve mobility, response time, and overall operational effectiveness across the state.

The initiative aligns with the broader commitment of the Zamfara State Government to support security agencies in the effective discharge of their constitutional responsibilities, particularly in the protection of lives and property and the maintenance of law and order.

The government highlighted the vehicle rehabilitation process and subsequent handover as a demonstration of transparency, accountability, and inter-agency collaboration in programme execution.

The exercise also underscored the expanding role of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in providing technical and engineering support to security and public service institutions beyond conventional road and infrastructure development.

The state government reaffirmed its resolve to continue supporting security agencies through infrastructural development, equipment maintenance, and strategic inter-agency collaboration as part of a holistic approach to improving security and promoting socio-economic development in the state.
