Zamfara police neutralize a known terrorist kingpin

It has been reported that Zamfara State police tactical team deployed to Lilo community in Wonaka district of Gusau Local Government Area of the State has neutralized bandit a bandits’ kingpin popularly known as Alhaji Lawali Dandumbulu, who was responsible for ravaging Lilo area.

According to a victim of the bandits’ attack, who pleaded anonymity, for security of his life said that the bandits attacked the village and killed one person and kidnapped nine others and injured one person.

He further stated that, before the redeployment of the police tactical team, the bandit had stormed the village with over 40 motorcycles, rustled more than 1000 cattle, burgled shops and their silos.

” When the police team came with Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and the bandits were later overpowered, forcing them to run back into the bushes,” he added.

According to one chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC from Wonoka-Auta and Tambalawa axis, the police seriously engaged the bandits and neutralized two of them.

“They killed the bandits’ leader, Alhaji Lawali Dandumbulu, destroyed his camp and arrested four, but they later killed three of them,” he said.

The State’s Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the success recorded by the police.

The State Police spokesman further appealed to the general public to continue cooperating in sharing timely and useful information with the police command to complement its efforts to ensure a secure environment for the people of Zamfara State.
