Nigerian envoy presents Letters of Credence to Jamaica

Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Dr Jane Bassey Adams, yesterday, presented her letters of credence to the Governor-General of Jamaica, Sir Patrick Allen.

Speaking during the ceremony, Adams said the exercise marked a new dawn in Nigeria’s relations with Jamaica.

The envoy, who was the immediate past Acting High Commissioner to Australia, noted that her mission was to reinvigorate bilateral relations between the two countries and further translate the deep cultural affinity into robust, mutually beneficial partnerships in trade, investment, health, culture, technology, tourism, and education.

Earlier, Allen acknowledged 56 years of diplomatic relations between Jamaica and Nigeria, noting that the figure alone does not fully capture the depth of the relationship.

He expressed appreciation for Nigeria’s contribution of specialist nurses and educators to Jamaica.

Describing it as a reflection of the warm friendship between both countries.
