NIMC moves to hasten issuance of NIN

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has said it is putting measures in place to ensure the harmonisation and integration of existing databases of Federal Government agencies to hasten the issuance of the National Identification Number (NIN).

The move, according to the organisation, would ensure interoperability of foundational and functional databases for improved and effective service delivery to the people.

NIMC’s Director General, Aliyu Aziz, yesterday told The Guardian that the information had been prioritised by government for faster result and growth of the national identity management system (NIMS).He added that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was looking beyond identity harmonisation to embrace data sychronisation in the long run.
