NIS reiterates commitment to Innovative Solutions For Africa’s Challenges

The Nigeria Innovation Summit (NIS) has reiterated its commitment to innovate solutions that would solve unique challenges within Nigeria, and the African continent, through collaborating with like mind institutions.

The Nigeria Innovation Summit (NIS) has reiterated its commitment to innovate solutions that would solve unique challenges within Nigeria, and the African continent, through collaborating with like mind institutions.

Partner and Event Director, Ms. Grace Akinosun disclosed this at a press briefing on the seventh edition of its yearly summit and launch of the Nigeria Innovation Experience (NIX) Talk in Lagos with the theme ‘Re-imagining Innovation’.

Akinosun said: “We need to keep collaborating, bringing in new ideas and finding ways to execute these ideas, so that we would be able to proffer solutions that are needful.

“In as much as innovation is about doing something new, it can also be rebranding something that’s in existence. Innovation could be creating, adding or subtracting. The true measurement of innovation isn’t how marvelous the idea is, but how applicable it is … ”

The Programme Director, Mr. Tony Ajah said the platform would birth practical innovations that could drive all sectors in the country.

Team Lead, Digital Innovation at Space Nxt, Union bank, Efunbolanle Hughes, said collaboration was important to take innovation where it needed to be in the industry today, adding that the advantage was to bring people together to network and share ideas on how to grow.

Area Operations Manager, SYNLAB Nigeria, Unyime Etura stressed the need for health sector to educate people on the right things to do.

“Many health facilities tend not to adopt the whole innovation or technology. There are a lot of technologies and innovations that could make health services better.
