Following a three-day warning strike embarked upon by railway workers nationwide, the Board and management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) yesterday announced the resumption of train services nationwide.

Following a three-day warning strike embarked upon by railway workers nationwide, the Board and management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) yesterday announced the resumption of train services nationwide.

The NRC management also expressed concern for any inconveniences the warning strike may have caused its valued passengers.

In a statement signed by NRC management yesterday, the Corporation informed the general public, especially its passengers, that after consultations with the two in-house unions of NRC, it called off the warning strike to pave way for the commencement of train services immediately as contained in the joint communique signed by the Management and the unions on Friday.

However, as part of safety measures, NRC said there would be joint inspection of the rail lines by NRC engineers and security personnel for confirmation of track safety before train departures commenced.
