Two officials of the Abia State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) have been expelled by its national leadership over alleged anti-union activities.

A letter signed by the NULGE’s National Secretary, Isah Gambo, said the unionists – Kenneth Nwasuka and Uko Ikechukwu – until their expulsion were the union’s former state deputy president and publicity secretary.

Sambo recalled the letter he wrote to the Abia State governor, Dr Alex Otti, on the alleged leadership crisis in Abia NULGE, part of which informed the governor that “Abia State NULGE executive led by Ikechi Nwaigwe is the only recognised executive of the union in the state.”
