The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has debunked reports that six cadets recently posted to Kwara State tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

Sources told The Guardian in Ilorin that the affected NYSC members were sent from the orientation camp at Yikpata, Edu Local Council, to University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for COVID-19 test when they started manifesting “some mild” symptoms of the disease.

Results of the tests, the sources added, proved positive, thus leading to the isolation of the members for proper evaluation and treatment at the tertiary hospital.

A source at the hospital, however, denied the report, noting that nothing of such was ever recorded at UITH.

Also, NYSC spokesman in Kwara, Johnson Morakinyo, refuted the claim, in a chat with The Guardian in Ilorin.
