NYSC laments presentation of fake certificates for service
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has lamented that some supposed graduates now present fake certificates from mostly foreign institutions, especially in West Africa for mobilisation to service.
Director General of the scheme, Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, therefore, cautioned that henceforth, any person who presents fake certificate in an attempt to get mobilised for service would be handed over to the police for prosecution.
He disclosed that 4,644,808 Nigerians have participated in the scheme since its inception in 1973.
Ibrahim, who disclosed this at a media briefing in Abuja, said the scheme has fostered national unity and integration through the deployment of corps members to states other than their states of origin.
