The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has appealed to state governments to ensure continuous upgrade of Orientation Camp facilities and other logistic provisions.

NYSC director general, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah made the call in Abuja yesterday, during the 2022 Batch “C” pre-Orientation workshop with the theme, “Exploring Effective Stakeholders Collaboration For Improved Orientation Programme.”

The workshop was a forum for the NYSC top management, partner agencies and key camp officials to review the conduct of previous orientation courses with a view to mapping out strategies for improved performance as it prepares for the next exercise.

The director general said the forum will help to fine-tune its arrangements and policy guidelines for the seamless execution of the exercise.

He said, “I wish to express our profound gratitude to the Federal Government for its abiding faith in the Scheme as demonstrated through the constant provision of funds for the smooth conduct of our operations.

“We also thank State Governments for their support, and appeal for more, especially through the continuous upgrade of Orientation Camp facilities and other logistic provisions. In the same vein, I thank the FCT Administration, traditional rulers, security agencies and other stakeholders in the territory for their immense support.”

Fadal expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and State Ministries of Health whose immense contributions assisted in the safe and efficient conduct of its orientation courses in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also speaking, the representative of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello, Musa Mamman Lai, assured the forum that his administration will continue to partner with the Scheme for the successful implementation of its lofty programmes.

“I, therefore urge all participants to contribute meaningfully so outcomes as to achieve the desired,” he said.
