Obasa declares bid for House of Representatives after 23 years in State Assembly

Obasa declares bid for House of Representatives

In a move that signals a major shift in the political landscape of Lagos State, the long-serving Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Mudashiru Obasa, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

The declaration took place before a sea of All Progressives Congress (APC) party leaders, stakeholders and enthusiastic supporters. The announcement marks the conclusion of an era for the state legislature, where Obasa has been a fixture for over two decades.

Obasa’s legislative journey began in 2003. Having represented Agege Constituency I for 23 years, with more than a decade spent presiding as Speaker, he noted that the decision to move to the National Assembly was fueled by a desire to scale his impact.
