
Speaker celebrates Fashola at 60, says ex-gov a gift to Lagos
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, yesterday, congratulated a former Governor of the state and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), who clocked 60 years. Obasa said at 60, Fashola remains a gift from God to Lagos and Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message by his media office, the Speaker said by determination, hardwork, honesty and love for the country, Fashola has become one of the most celebrated politicians in Nigeria.
“Babatunde Fashola possesses the qualities that have helped leaders across the world to succeed. This is why he has remained successful in every position he has occupied in Nigeria.
ALSO, a telecommunications firm, Globacom, has urged Muslim faithful to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to advance good neighbourliness, love and solidarity.
In a statement, the firm wished Muslims a joyous Sallah celebration and urged them to continue practising self-control and recommit themselves to the instructions of the Holy Quran.
It, therefore, praised Muslims for successfully completing this year’s hajj in accordance with the dictates of Islam and urged them to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s commitment, dedication and obedience.
‘’It is a season of charity, peace-making and forgiveness. We must use this season to remember to fend for the poor and the needy in line with Allah’s injunction to be our brother’s keeper,” Globacom noted.
