Obaseki applauds judiciary on peace, harmony, assures of more support
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, yesterday, assured the judiciary of sustained cooperation and support to ensure that more citizens have access to justice, just as he applauded the judiciary for maintaining law, peace and order in the state.
Obaseki gave the assurance when President of the National Industrial Court (NIC), Justice Benedict Kanyip, visited him at Government House, Benin City.
He noted that since the establishment of the NIC in the state, the government and people of Edo State had enjoyed industrial harmony and peace, adding: “We appreciate you, because your presence has led to some industrial harmony for us.”
Commending the president of the NIC, he said: “You have placed the industrial court on a pedestal that people have come to respect the judgment of your court.
“We can say that when the people go to your court, you don’t see them come back and begin to pursue endless appeals.”
We appreciate you and encourage you to continue to keep the standard of the court.”
Earlier, Justice Kanyip commended Obaseki for his investment in the judiciary.
