Obaseki pledges better life for market women
Market women in the state have been assured of better living conditions, if the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate Godwin Obaseki is elected.
Obaseki gave the pledge yesterday when Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the campaign train visited Ugbegun market in Upper Sakponba area of Benin City.
The visit was in continuation of the ongoing ward-to-ward campaign, which is expected to cover the 192 wards in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Anna Nureni expressed joy that Obaseki has the governor’s support, whom they said has performed well in the community.
“We are supporting the governor’s candidate because we know he will not abandon Ugbegun, he can only improve on what Oshiomhole has done,” she said.
Obaseki said though times are hard in the country, life would be better if the APC is allowed to continue its developmental strides across the state.
He berated the PDP for campaigning that its plan to create 200, 000 jobs was not feasible, restating that the bulk of the promised jobs would be come from agriculture.
He explained that under the programme, youths would be taught extensive farming of rice and other products in order to put an end to importation of the products.
He said more roads would be built, including the one leading to Ikpoba Hill.
Obaseki added that human empowerment would form the thrust of his government.
