Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the last general election, Peter Obi, has put his ordeal in the hands of immigration officers in United Kingdom (UK) behind him, as he, on his return to Nigeria, joined the campaign for the party’s candidate for the House of Representatives election for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Victor Ogene.

Yesterday, Obi embarked on a road-show campaign in wards, in the constituency where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled to conduct supplementary election to determine the ultimate winner of the constituency seat in the National Assembly.

At various spots where he presented the LP candidate, Obi, who was accompanied by Senator-elect, Tony Nwoye, and Oseloka Obaze, lamented that citizens of this country are currently passing through unbearable hardship.

Obi explained that his party is committed to building a new Nigeria by reversing the prevailing poverty and suffering Nigerians are experiencing.

He told the people that Ogene is committed to his philosophy of building a new Nigeria. He said: “I am here to beg you to vote for us. Vote for LP. Vote for Ogene. We will support him, and he will rebuild Ogbaru.

“Remember, I built all these roads here when I was governor. If you vote for us in Saturday re-run election, we will come back to thank you; Ogene will develop here.

“There is too much suffering in the country. That is what LP wants to end by creating a new Nigeria. So, we are begging you to vote for us.”
